Emotional Mirror

That which is observable on the surface of this world provides artists with much raw material and inspiration.
Yet it is within the mysterious inner world, where the creative process melds with our shared psychic yearnings, that the metaphors which we seek to express our deepest needs and desires find their richest form.

For me painting offers an opportunity to examine my emotional responses to life as I experience it.
My work is based on personal narrative, but the sub-text emerges from deep within my subconscious being.
I pay close attention to the allegories springing forth from that swirling, twirling oracle. Transposing the songs of the subconscious mind into colors, shapes and forms may not replicate my inner world literally, but may reveal in some small way the complexity and beauty of
that great spiritual place that connects us all.
